Village workshop helps preserve Lisu ethnic culture in Sichuan

Wei Caixiu, 31, is the owner of this small shop selling traditional Lisu clothing in a village in Miyi County, Sichuan Province. As a member of the Lisu ethnic group, Wei has been learning to make traditional attire featuring unique designs, auspicious patterns and bright colors since childhood. The store is not only a retail outlet, but also a workshop where Wei teaches young people how to make traditional clothing. Through her efforts, Wei hopes she can pass on the technique of making traditional clothes of the Lisu ethnic group to more people and carry Lisu ethnic culture forward.
