The 2024 Global Ocean Development Forum will be held on October 24 and 25 in Qingdao City, east China’s Shandong Province, according to the provincial government.

The annual forum, themed “Let’s ‘sea’ our futures – promoting blue partnerships for growth and sustainability,” is co-hosted by the Shandong Provincial People’s Government and the Ministry of Natural Resources.

The event is composed of the main forum, the East Asia Marine Cooperation Platform Qingdao Session, four parallel forums, and six special sessions.

The event will explore marine ecological governance, ecological restoration, and carbon trading as crucial solutions to climate change. The “2024 China Ocean Development Index” and “2024 Ocean Development Forum Qingdao Initiative” will be released at the forum.

The conference will also discuss how international cooperation can facilitate sharing best practices and technologies and advance global marine ecosystem protection.
