China’s top political advisory body, the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, opened its annual session on Tuesday in Beijing.

Wang Huning, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, delivered a work report on behalf of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee.  

According to Wang, the CPPCC National Committee received 6,019 proposals over the past year, of which 5,091 were filed, with a 99.9-percent response rate.

A total of 54,317 information submissions were received, out of which 11,323 were adopted. Additionally, 1,728 issues of information bulletins were compiled and published, with 1,016 reports submitted to the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council leaders.

Various policy recommendations received 819 instructions from leaders and 53 feedback reports from local governments and departments.
