The 8K ultra-high-definition (UHD) live broadcast vans from China Media Group (CMG), or the “Chinese red” broadcast vans, departed Stade de France – the national stadium of France – in Paris on Monday, six hours after the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The live broadcast vans had arrived in Paris on July 16. They provided a global audience with more than 60 hours of 8K UHD signals of the Olympic track and field events as well as the closing ceremony, making Paris 2024 the first Summer Olympics in history with an 8K UHD public broadcast signal.
The fleet of live broadcast vans took the scenic route again, past the Eiffel Tower on the left bank of the Seine, past the Arc de Triomphe, along the Avenue des Champs-Elysees, and past the Les Invalides, drawing the attention of the passersby.
International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach, President of France’s Olympic Committee David Lappartient and President of Paris 2024 Tony Estanguet fully acknowledged the CMG’s 8K broadcasting technology and the presentation capabilities at the Paris Olympics.
The Paris Paralympic Games are scheduled to take place from August 28 to September 8.
