A premium program exhibition organized by China Media Group (CMG) and six Russian media outlets was officially launched in Moscow on Friday, days ahead of the 16th BRICS Summit that lasts from October 22 to 24.
Starting from Friday, 11 documentaries, films and other TV programs produced by CMG will be broadcast on several Russian platforms. It will run until October 24. The exhibition aims to present a comprehensive view of China to the Russian public, fostering mutual understanding and deepening friendship between the two nations.
During the launch, Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and CMG President, emphasized the significance of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. He noted that under the strategic leadership of both heads of state, the two countries have established a new model for major power relations, with increasing cooperation in media exchanges.
“This exhibition is a vivid practice to deepen the outcomes of the leaders’ meetings and strengthen emotional ties between our nations,” Shen said. He expressed confidence that the showcased programs would allow Russian audiences to appreciate the vibrancy of contemporary China and the richness of Chinese culture.
Pavel Negoitsa, general director of Rossiyskaya Gazeta highlighted the importance of cultural exchanges as a vital component of Sino-Russian relations. He stated that the joint exhibition would help the Russian public gain deeper insights into China’s development and cultural heritage. He expressed hope to collaborate with CMG on more cultural events to enhance bilateral relations.
Zhang Hanhui, Chinese ambassador to Russia, noted that this year is designated as the China-Russia Cultural Year, during which a series of engaging cultural activities will take place. He highlighted the significance of the CMG exhibition in showcasing China’s diverse landscapes, rich civilization and cultural traditions.
“I believe that the programs will help audiences understand China as a country worthy of friendship, trust and respect, fostering new connections between our peoples,” Zhang said.
