Chinese athletes who have been performing well at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics are not the only glittering Chinese elements in the French capital. The country’s culture is also attracting a lot of attention.
The year 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and France, with the China House in Paris building on the celebration and becoming an iconic site to showcase the country’s rich cultural heritage.
“China House is a window onto Chinese sports and a platform to show Chinese sports culture to the world,” retired diver He Chong, China’s 3-meter springboard gold medalist from the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, told CGTN Sports Scene’s Greg Laffradi.
“I think it’s nice to be able to have a place like China House in the city that hosts the Olympic Games to show Chinese culture to people from different countries,” He added.
In addition to the China House, many other sites in Paris are offering the public a glimpse of Chinese culture. The Musee de Guimet is presenting one the most complete collections of Chinese arts in the world, widely considered to be the most outstanding in Europe. These Chinese elements provide an opportunity for the world to gain a better understanding of Chinese culture, while also promoting cultural exchanges between China and other countries.
