The Chinese delegation for the 2024 Paris Summer Paralympics was introduced in Beijing on Friday.
The 516-member delegation includes 284 athletes who will participate in 302 events across 19 sports. There are 126 male athletes and 158 females. The oldest is 48-year-old table tennis player Xiong Guiyan and the youngest is 15-year-old swimmer Zhu Hui.
A total of 95 Chinese athletes are set to make their Paralympic debuts in Paris.
The 2024 Paris Summer Paralympics will begin on August 28 and end on September 9. About 4,400 athletes from 160 nations and regions will compete in 549 events across 22 sports.
Paris 2024 will mark China’s 11th appearance at the Summer Paralympics. The country’s athletes secured 96 gold, 60 silver and 51 bronze medals at the pandemic-delayed Tokyo Summer Paralympics in 2021.
