Through the eyes of this young artist, China becomes a blend of tradition, architecture, and personal dreams. Inspired by a parent’s introduction to Chinese customs and a desire to explore more of the country, the artwork is crafted with care using colored pencils and crayons.

The piece is divided into five parts. Some sections highlight the young painter’s experiences with Chinese traditions, such as the vibrant Chinese New Year and the Dragon Boat Festival, while another captures the beauty of Buddhist temple ornaments. Other sections express future aspirations, featuring places the young painter hopes to visit in China. At the center lies a personal impression of China, bringing together all these elements into an imaginative vision.

Congratulations to Deanna Elysia Abigail Sitorus for winning the Second Prize in the “China Through My Eyes” Global Children’s Art Project!
